Bishop Gary Wollersheim is the Ecumenical Officer for the Northern Illinois Synod.  As part of the ELCA, the Northern Illinois Synod actively shares and seeks unity with others who call on the name of Jesus Christ as members of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church.  We enjoy full communion relationships with several other denominations in the United States and are engaged in dialogue to pursue greater unity with others.  These efforts happen in the churchwide, synodical and congregational expressions of the ELCA.
