Rev. Dr. Timothy V. Olson, Senior Pastor

Personal Mission Statement: To share Christ with people who don't know they need him, and teach Christ to people who can't live without him.

Position Mission Statement: To inspire, mentor, and equip the people of Christ, through preaching, teaching, administration of sacraments, and visionary leadership, to be faithful and courageous disciples, united in the body of Christ, who offer their gifts in ways that make Christ known.

Pastor Timothy came to Christ Church in 1999. He was ordained as a pastor in 1996. Pastor Timothy is also active in the wider Church, serving as Ecumenical Representative for the Bishop; Instructor in Early Church History and Christian Doctrine for the Diakonia Program (a Synodical Lay School of Theology); Adjunct Faculty of the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago serving as an advisor and professor in the ACTS Doctor of Ministry in Preaching Program. tim@makingchristknown.org

Rev. Joy L. S. Alsop - Pastor for Discipleship

Personal Mission Statement: To help people who are often overlooked experience the love of God through teaching, preaching, and pastoral care and to inspire and equip others to use their gifts to do the same.

Position Mission Statement: Inspire, equip, mentor and develop teams and leaders to help Christians grow in faith and clarity of personal mission through small groups, ministries of care, prayer, and learning in the congregation and the community of Poplar Grove.

Pastor Joy joined the ministry team at Christ Lutheran Church in 2009. Her main areas of ministry include: Worship life, Pastoral Care, Adult Education, and Small Groups.  A graduate of Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, Pastor Joy was ordained in 2009. Joy@MakingChristKnown.org

Jane Atteberry, Associate in Ministry (AIM) - Deacon for Invitation & Administration

Personal Mission Statement: To welcome and invite people into the life of Christ and encourage others to be the presence of Christ each day in all they do.

Position Mission Statement: To inspire, equip, and multiply leaders and teams to invite, inform, and connect potential disciples to the fellowship, ministries, and mission of our congregation through personal example, dynamic leadership, and radical hospitality.

Ms. Atteberry has served the congregation since 1997.  She served until August of 2003 as Parish Administrator.  She is responsible for hospitality and invitation efforts, communications, editor of Christ Alive, and integration of new members.  Ms. Atteberry was certified as an Associate in Ministry (AIM) of the ELCA in 2007.  jane@makingchristknown.org

Jennifer Fox, Associate in Ministry (AIM)Deacon for Worship

Personal MIssion Statement: To provide excellence in musical leadership in worship and to develop spiritual gifts in others through liturgical arts.

Position Mission Statement: Inspire, equip, and mentor people and teams that contribute to various experiences of worship through music, art, service, and technology.

Ms. Fox began directing the music ministries here in 1996.  She is responsible for choirs for all ages, worship planning, music and drama in worship and development of lay leaders for worship.  She was certified as an Associate in Ministry (AIM) in 1987 and has worked as a church musician for many years.  In addition to her work here, she works as a music educator in the public schools. jennifer@makingchristknown.org

Elizabeth Martin, Associate in Ministry (AIM)Deacon for Care & Service

Personal MIssion Statement: To listen to, care for, and support the lost, ill, broken, and grieving, so that they might encounter the incarnational love of Christ.

Position Mission Statement: Inspire, mentor and develop leaders and teams to meet the needs and address the hopes of others in the name of Christ through caring ministries, service, and mission, locally and globally.

Ms. Martin began her ministry at Christ Church in 1998.  She is a Synodically Authorized Minister of Word, which means she has been affirmed by the Bishop as a lay preacher.  She provides pastoral care in partnership with the pastors, and is responsible for ministries that bring Christ to others in the world including health and healing ministries, hunger advocacy, and the tutoring program of the congregation.  Ms. Martin was certified as an Associate in Ministry (AIM) of the ELCA in 2007.  elizabeth@makingchristknown.org
