 | Why are we doing this appeal at this time?
The challenges we face in our mission of Making Christ Known to people who do not know him are immense. To meet these challenges we need resources beyond what our general giving can supply. In addition, we are expanding the ways that we invite people to grow in generosity to meet the diversity of ways people relate to and think about the church.

| | Is a gift made to "Ignite" projects tax deductable?
Yes. It is handled just like any other church offering you make.

| | Are these gifts considered part of my "pledged" giving?
No. These gifts are "above and beyond" or "second mile gifts." We still need regular offerings to fund the general operations of the congregation.

| | What if I want to give an amount to a project that is not suggested in the brochure or the website?
You may give any amount to any project you desire. We have made some suggestions to help people think about where their generosity might accomplish something important to them. If an amount is not available on the website, you can simply give by check.

| | What if we don't receive enough to fund a project? What will happen to my gift?
If we do not receive gifts adequate to fund a project, the Council will prioritize projects and decide how to pool the offerings so that we accomplish the most. That could mean that we will have to redirect your gift to another project. However, we plan to work hard to see that all these projects happen.

| | How will I know about our progress?
We will be posting updates on the website, in the newsletter and will have information displayed in the building as we proceed. You'll also know when you see the projects begin to take shape.

| | Who decided on these projects?
The projects grow out of needs identified as we implement our strategic plan which was developed in 2009 with the help of many members of the congregation and Tom Bandy. Every project will make progress toward our msision & vision. The staff has been instrumental in formulating the needs. The Congregation Council has been diligent in setting priorities and direction.

You can make multiple gifts to any of the projects over the next 60 days. We hope to conclude this program by August 15, 2010.
