Confirmation Retreat

Each year, a retreat focused on faith    in daily life, faith practices and the    confirmation covenant will be held for children desiring to be confirmed in the coming year and their parents.  The child should have completed 8th grade before retreat participation.

Setting the Date

Children are not confirmed at a set time.  When they are ready to commit their lives to active participation in the life of the congregation and affirm faith in Christ, a date can be selected.  Confirmation, because it is an extension of Baptism, happens on designated days for baptism.

Affirmation of Baptism Dates for 2006—2007

Our congregation designates baptismal celebrations each year.  These dates coincide with  Festival days in the church year and Sundays for which the “theme” of the day has Baptism as a focus.  The dates for 2006-2007 are:

· Sunday of Proper 22:  October 8, 2006

· All Saints Sunday:  November 5, 2006

· Baptism of Our Lord:  January 7, 2007

· Transfiguration of Our Lord:  February 18, 2007

· Vigil of Easter:  April 7, 2007 (an especially meaningful day to celebrate baptism and       affirmation)

· Day of Pentecost:  May 27, 2007

· Time after Pentecost 17:  July 29, 2007

· Time After Pentecost 24:  September 16, 2007

· All Saints Sunday:  November 4, 2007
