It is contrary to the Christian faith to be selfish or greedy. Encouraging a generous heart which gives freely of time, talents, and treasure, is an essential path to knowing our Lord, Jesus Christ. He gave everything, that we might live. At Christ Lutheran, we encourage generosity and practice it as a congregation.
Giving for Mission
Tithes & Offerings
The tithes and offerings received by the congregation directly support both the mission & ministry of the congregation and mission beyond our congregation. 20% of what we receive is passed on to organizations and ministries in the community and around the world. The remaining amount is dedicated to the purpose of Making Christ Known in and through the congregation.
Giving for Building
Work of Faith & Labor of Love Building Program
One of the ways that we exercise or generosity is in support of our building program. Gifts to this ministry are "above & beyond" regular tithes and offerings. The funds pay construction costs on our new building, debt reduction on our mortgage, and other expenses related to building.
Guideposts Sweater Project
Many of our members and friends enjoy knitting and crocheting sweaters for youth around the world who would otherwise be cold. Want to learn more about how to make these sweaters? Just click on the link here to get a copy of the pattern and to learn more about the project. Completed sweaters may be dropped off at the church office at any time, and are forwarded on to Guideposts around the 1st of March each year. We invite you to help make Christ known by providing for the needs of His children.
