One of the most powerful images of Jesus Christ in the New Testament is that of a healer. He is one who brought sight to the blind, made the lame walk, and restored many to a life of wholeness and health through his touch. In this day and age, it is easy to dismiss the ministry of healing as something of a bygone era. We believe that Christ still brings healing. Through prayer, medical practice, and quiet movement, Christ is still the healer.
Our congregation is committed to promoting health and wholeness in daily life. As good stewards of the life God has given, all those who follow Christ should work to adopt healthy lifestyles and pursue good preventive health care. The ministry of health and healing in our congregation is multi-dimensional and works in concert with and even through medical approaches to healing and health. Being healthy is more than not being sick. Health is a state in which we are able to live fully as the people God created us to be, relating fully to God and one another. Health is about wholeness.
